I agree with the previous poster that this cat scratch mat will last a long time. We've been using this since March and now I'm in the process of ordering a replacement. This compares to regular store-bought cardboard spacers, which typically last a week or two on each side. Our cat has been using both sides of the liner for the past 7 months and it still sticks together but I would like to order again as our cat has just started scratching our expensive carpet. Otherwise, the angle of the scratching post seems just right for our cat. Sometimes she will climb on it to scratch her head or just use her front paws from a sitting position. BIG PLUS: it stays together, ie. You won't find that many cardboard scratches on the floor around the carpet. This board is stiffer and has a finer grain than typical scratch pads in my opinion. One note: I'm buying the whole thing again (not just the insert) because our cat also scratched the frame trim (yes, the frame is cardboard too). But for an extended 7 months it's still a good deal.
