Firstly they worked great. I ran 3-6 miles every day and every time I ran 4 miles my shins hurt. I started trimming my long runs. I don't use them every time, but I use them every time I run 6-8 miles. No more split leg. Great. Second, my calf height is exactly 15 inches (and skinny ankles). I was on the border between M and L. I chose M. They are very tight when you take them off. So when I get tired after a long run, I need a second to rest before trying to take them off. I was even a little over 15 inches, I would choose L. However they are tight but I had no pain so they do what they are supposed to do. Good product! Finally, I'm 5ft 7in, they could be slightly for someone taller, considerably so they overlap my ankle socks so it's a bit tight at times. I would consider/reconsider going much smaller, but for someone with fairly large long calves, they should work just fine.
