good system from reliable vendor

I bought three of these refurbished HP EliteDesk Minis based on AMD processors. I bought them all from CNB Computers while working here as Quality Recertified. Buying a refurbished computer consists of two stories. One is the manufacturing of the computer. The second is a craftsman. Both are worth talking about. The refurbished computer market is effectively dominated by three brands: Dell, Lenovo and HP. I've had bad experiences with Dell hardware so I'm embarrassed to buy from the aftermarket. In my experience, Lenovo's hardware has been pretty good, but the mini boxes lack USB ports. I've had good experiences with HP equipment, both new and refurbished (the term "brick cabinet" springs to mind). Meticulously designed and built, these EliteDesk Mini PCs are on par with the company's larger, more expensive systems. Most importantly, there are plenty of USB ports in these boxes - four USB3 and 2 USB2. Boxes work fine. 8 GB of RAM and half a terabyte of hard drive (one of which was an SSD) ensure really fast boots, program loads and so on. AMD CPUs are great (I've seen discussions between Intel and AMD; lots of test results, little front-of-screen performance, and that's the only thing that really matters). I suspect (and will eventually try) that doubling that memory would place these blocks in the graphics/gaming/video editing category for all but the most serious of users. So, good gear to start with. It wouldn't mean anything if Quality Recertified (CNB Computers) didn't do a good job. I suspect they carefully choose the blocks to repair; I also think they understand that the end result should please the customer - it's not just a matter of performance, but also of appearance. The computer itself is immaculate inside and out (yes, I checked). The company ships a new keyboard, which is perfectly acceptable (I used it with my old computer for a while to make sure I moved everything that needed moving), mouse (yikes, another simple mouse; me prefer trackballs but it was fine ) and a USB WiFi adapter and (backup) power cord just in case. The two systems I bought came with HP power supplies; the third came with a third-party power supply that matched HP's specs (simple; they're essentially laptop power supplies). The quality of suppliers is best measured by how problems are dealt with. One system arrived with what was obviously the wrong power supply, and it was sticky to boot! It happened on the Friday before Labor Day. I sent a message; the new PSU arrived the following Wednesday. In short, sufficient speed under impossible circumstances. There are no problems with delivery times (orders arrive 3-5 days before the deadline set by Revain, shipping with UPS with signature verification). Last but not least, Quality Recertified delivers goods at very competitive prices. That makes this buyer smile quite a bit. Cheshire Cat lookalikes, etc.
