Elastic tubing cuts off blood flow

I have posterior tibial tendinitis from a prolapsed arch. I bought it on the recommendation of an orthopedist because the strap leans up to give the arch a little bit of lift. However, the elastic in the tube that the strap attaches to is a bit tight even for a medium size (I wear size 9 shoes). After wearing them for several hours, I developed swelling around my toes and slight swelling in the form of dimples. Consequently I cut the strap out of the tubing and just use it as a tendon wrap and the velcro on either end allows it to attach to itself exactly as needed for support.
