My situation may be different from most others. I rescued 7 cats and 3 females daily. Then they pee where they want to mark their territory. It's been this way for 6 months now and I've tried every air purifier and soothing diffuser. This didn't solve the problem, but it reduced the problem significantly. It seems more effective in an audio environment that is a soothing piano piece. There is only one song. I hope to upgrade and vote in the future, but I don't think she's ready for that. I hear inaudible tuning near the device, but it sounds like a very quiet machine with white noise.
