These are amazing looking coasters, truly one of a kind! Although they absorb water, I've found them to stick to the bottom of a very sweaty mug. I once fell into someone's plate of food that got stuck to the bottom of their cup when they were about to drink ice water. They're very light and come with stand bumpers (clear plastic feet) if you want to use them so the stands don't sit directly on the table. I didn't use coasters.
