Review on Advanced Pixio PX259 Prime Monitor: 1920X1080P, 280Hz, FreeSync, Frameless Design, Anti-Glare Coating, Tilt Adjustment, Blue Light Filter, HDMI, IPS, HD by Ben Dawgg

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall very bright, great refresh rate, viewing angles, freesync works great!

I initially took this to create an additional play device for my friend's son. I wanted to create a system capable of 1080p eSports gaming with inexpensive hardware. Our overall budget for the system wasn't very large, and we assembled the system along with the parts my friend and I had. As a result, this monitor fully met all requirements. I've never used a Pixio monitor before testing this, but I'm very impressed. Although it is IPS; There were no visible halos that I could see. The image was very realistic, with decent color accuracy for a gaming monitor and reasonably saturated colors. Nothing looked washed out like TN, and viewing angles were excellent. I had a small problem with this monitor, but it might be related to freesync. Whenever I wake up the computer from sleep or when the monitor is idle; it flickers for 30-60 seconds. However, when I turned the monitor off and on again, it worked fine. If I turn off the monitor when I leave the PC, it also works fine. The monitor ran at 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz, 280Hz from the RX580 with no issues. At 240Hz and higher it looks very smooth like glass with no visible traces on the cursor. I played around with it a bit in COD just to test it and was able to get to the top of the scoreboard easily. Because I was playing such a heavy game with the RX580, I only got 80-100 fps with dips into the 60s. This monitor had no problems with freesync; the impression was smooth and without breaks! I'm really surprised at how good this monitor is for the price (at the time of review) because I expected it to cost 30-50% more, at least despite being 1080p. Really great display here, my friend's son has been enjoying it all day every day for the past few months. I will definitely recommend it in the future and keep an eye out for future Pixio monitors!
