I bought this as a gaming pad for Magic The Gathering as I tend to play with lots of creatures and wanted something wider than the standard 13.5 x 24 pad wanted, but many of the extended mats are 15x36, which seems a bit oversized. You lose about 2 inches vertically, but gaining an extra 7 inches to the side was a priority. I fell in love with him immediately. The quality of the mat seems excellent and it rolls out easily with no curling or problems. No weird smell. The art is beautiful (not distracting) and well done. The edge stitching is a really nice touch. It rolls up and fits nicely in a standard playmat tube. The surface is smooth, the thickness just right. Overall very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend as a card playing mat.
