Sometimes it's better not to read other people's reviews to avoid confusion. I recommend buying what you think is the right size for your child. My skinny almost 7 year old son was wearing a size 6 Target underwear and it still fits well but is getting tight. I bought a size 7 in this soft cotton underwear and it fits perfectly (has room to grow). He seems to like her very much and is happy. He's also not very picky about clothes. He would probably fit a size 5-6 but a size 7 is fine for the size.
