I love this kettle, it costs 2 1/2 full cups which is pretty much perfect for me and one other person. I boil and pour water in a separate kettle, but I think you can do it right on the stove. It's heavy, definitely cast iron, don't put the lid on until you take out the tea bags because it gets hot. I recommend having a stand for this. To clean I rinse it out and if I haven't gotten most of the water I take a paper towel to wipe away the excess and leave the lid open to allow it to evaporate. As far as I know, this kettle is the only one I'll need for the rest of my life.
