I have a very heavy 16" diameter record that I bought it for and it worked fine. The brackets that attach to the panel were very strong, which I liked more than other hangers I've used on another panel. The hanger holds tight and there is no over-extension of the springs as some reviewers have mentioned. Everything makes a very solid and reliable impression. The only issue I have is the ridiculous nail and hook that comes with the kit. with this device. They are both very small and will never work with the large heavy plate this hanger is designed for. The nail would have blasted out of the wall and the little hook would never have reached the bracket holding the panel. Luckily I already had a long screw hook from the center post for the curtain rod which worked great and screwed into the wall stud for extra strength. All in all a good product.
