Cats can't walk on my keyboard anymore. You can still sit in front of my monitor, but I can handle it. I haven't tried putting the monitor (actually both the computer and the monitor) on a stand because I like looking at the keyboard when I'm touching. It was a good buy. My keyboard is 17" and I almost bought a 17" stand; it's an outer dimension and it wouldn't work. I left the easy assembly blank because there is nothing to assemble.
