Hats off to this product! I ordered this backpack to replace our heavy but compact plastic fridge that couldn't even keep drinks cold for 6-7 hours despite lots of ice (packets). Where we used it: Two 12 hour trips, several day trips to the beach. This is how we packed it: cold drinks (1 1/2 liter juice bottle, 5 cans of drink, several water bottles, 1 bottle per side, 1 sandwich box, snack box). Pack everything with a few squares of flexible ice sheets (from Amazon). This is how it works: After the ride - simply brilliant. Everything fit comfortably and most drinks were frozen for at least 4 hours and then chilled to fridge temperature over the next 4-5 hours. When we unpacked at the end of our trip some of the ice packs were still intact and not melted, a few bottles were ice cold. On the beach - Again just amazing. We carried another small lunch bag for snacks that didn't need to be refrigerated, but this backpack was just perfect for that day at the beach. The whole 4 hours we spent on the beach was very chilled, the beer was very chilled. If you snap it up right away when you get what you need, the insulation is perfect, even for a 6 hour ride in the hot sun. Additionally, we took advantage of the external pockets to store our phones and other accessories (in zipped pockets for double security). We were very impressed with its performance after our road and beach trips. Definitely a quality product.
