Review on πŸ’ͺ VANWIN Heavy Duty Fingernail and Toenail Clippers for Seniors - Sharp Curved Blade, 16mm Wide Jaw Opening, Stainless Steel Cutter with Nail File for Thick Nails by Bridgette Andrada

Seems better than anything else I've used

While they didn't cut my nails "like two knives in butter," they cut my nails far easier than I can remember with any department store nail Scissors. Still, they're pretty sharp. I wasn't sure at first because of the wide opening, but I can't deny that it's a lot easier to see and line up the cut. Be careful not to snag the skin on the side of your fingers. They didn't cut deep enough to hurt or bleed, but they were sharp enough to go through skin easily, and I couldn't get my hands on them until that was done. I know this conflicts with knives due to the oil comment, but wanted to clarify the strength level for nails. I felt no overbite or underbite as I ran my finger and nail over the closed knife blades. They appear properly finished (overbite or underbite haircuts tend to break the nail instead of cutting it, leaving rough edges). I noticed a small stain on the top and bottom blades lined up (shown in the video). I forgot to inspect the clippers before using them as I ordered them for my nails because the wife loves to take my clippers and use them and not bring them back to where they were. I opened them and immediately started trimming my nails. The spring mechanism appears to be reasonably well made and returned the knives to their open position ready for the next cut. The spring folds under the machine arm for storage. The metal has some finishing as well as a notch on the bottom that prevents the clippers from slipping during use, even with wet fingers. I'm not a leather expert, but the case doesn't look like real leather, it looks like a layer of leather on top of some compressed fibers. It almost looks blurry. Again, I'm no leather expert and as far as I know it could be "genuine leather". In any case, the case feels quite comfortable. The file is an extra thick transparent plastic with a layer of small dots that make loops. I was very surprised how well he filed my nail tips after trimming. Its thickness made it difficult for me to file the corners of my nails to avoid ingrown nails (thickness is listed around 1 US cent). Overall I think this is a very good product and I hope it lasts a long time. I am very satisfied and would recommend purchasing this clipper if you are considering it.
