I bought these because my cat loves a certain corner of the sofa to sharpen her claws. She will literally look at you, start scratching the sofa, and then run away as soon as you grab the spray bottle. These are thick sheets of sticky plastic that you apply to the area the cat is scratching. They also come with screw pins to hold the corners in place. At first she was confused by it, but it took less than an hour before she simply removed the scratch to the left of the plastic. So I added a new sheet at this point. So she went to the other end of the sofa. After about 2 weeks the edges started curling up when people passed by touching the armrest of the sofa with their foot, making it look dirty pretty quickly. scratches where the plastic was applied, but unless I cover all my furniture with it I feel like it keeps finding new places to scratch.
