I've been using this for a few years now since I stopped using name brand soaps and body wash. This soap was recommended to me by a relative. It contains the least amount of harsh chemicals in the ingredients and is made the old-fashioned way. No chemical smells. Most branded bars of soap now produce smaller bars, but cost the same or even more (less bang for your buck). It is best to lather Amish soap on a body scrubber and then apply it to the body. *NOTE: You can find pieces of wood (others have also reported) in a bar of soap that can scratch your skin. The BEST way to avoid this is to apply the soap directly to the body scrub and then rub the body as this is more effective at removing dead skin cells anyway.
