Review on Super Stainless Steel Blades Pack by Leslie Cyrius

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Is this stainless steel.

The variety of razors with a blade is small. These are two brands of SE blades that are "readily available": GEMs and Treets, which are made by the same company (American Safety Razor). In fact, the cambers of the blades that the blades fit into are identical. GEM will have "GEM" on the non-cutting, reinforced trunk, and Treets will have a number. I've marked them just in case. At the time of writing this review, I've only been using safety razors for about a year. Most of my experiences have been with DE style razors. The shaving techniques are similar, but I've shaved a lot more often with DE razors than with SE razors. Also note that I have fairly coarse hair and sensitive skin. I can shave very well with these blades once I get used to the shaving style. GEM Mircomatics are aggressive razors for my technique so I'm a bit irritated. Since this type of SE blades is stiffer compared to DE blades and these GEM blades are very sharp, I have found in my experience that these blades chip off stubble easily in a few days. I didn't notice any difference compared to the Treet blades. in performance. I mean Treat is a bit spicier. However, as some razors know, the Treet is made of carbon steel while the GEM is made of stainless steel. I can only use Treat 2-3 times not because they are dull but because rust bothers me. I dry Treets after use, but I have tanning due to oxidation when water gets trapped in the micromatic during the first shave. I shave 5-6 times a week and the GEM blades last all week. Maybe they could last longer, but at the expense of the blades, I'll try not to tempt fate.

Pros
  • Razors and blades
Cons
  • There are nuances
