After buying the latest iPad Air in a beautiful blue, I spent a lot of time researching iPad cases. The features I wanted were: 1) auto wake function 2) closes securely 3) light weight 4) protective 5) beautiful 6) strong when opened to keep the iPad from tipping over 7) touching the inside of the case not the tabletop when you use it as a stand 8) Easy to hold with one hand and still operate 9) Doesn't cover the touch button This stand is what you need. It essentially turns your iPad into a 'book' shape - the front cover is a single piece that opens like a book. It can be fully folded so you can easily hold the iPad with one hand. It's easy too. The case has a rough surface, making it comfortable to hold. The iPad itself is attached to four small corners that protect the corners of the device. The edges of the case extend about 1/4 inch beyond the edges of the iPad all the way around, so I feel like it's secure if dropped (assuming it's covered with a rubber band). The elastic that covers the case is super thick and doesn't seem to stretch or wear down over time. (Or if that happens, I'll switch to a new iPad). The small storage compartment for the Apple Pencil is a nice bonus. I wish the pencil could be charged from the locker but there aren't any instances where you can do that so it's not a disadvantage. Another bonus is the front pocket for business cards, cash/cards, a cleaning cloth or a small flat object of your choice. When you use it as a stand, you can adjust it to 3 angles. This is the only minor weakness of this case - the ribs holding the iPad could be a bit higher/sturdier. But even if the iPad slips, it won't be damaged with such a case - it will be held securely in the case and only fall on its back and not on its face like cases with a roll. Lid where you bend the lid to form a small triangular base. Above all, this case is BEAUTIFUL! It makes me happy every time I look at it, unlike most boring black or plain cases. The only way this case could be better is if it had a flap that seals the camera on the back. However, the case is thick enough that the camera is pushed far back and is difficult to scratch; However, if you throw it in your purse along with your car keys, it is possible. I love this case so much it was worth spending HOURS studying it! Highly recommended
