Review on Sony XB950B1 Extra Bass Wireless Headphones: Enhanced Sound and App Control in Sleek Black Design by Sean Sean ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right product for me, there were no problems.

Before that, I used the black version for a year and a half, broke it very stupidly, sat sideways in the minibus at the very window in the direction of travel, the driver braked sharply, hit it directly with a hinge, the locking ring broke, it’s plastic, it’s impossible to fix it, took it apart and looked. The service says that only the entire headband is changed for the cost of more than half of the new headphones. I took new ones, now I don’t sit in transport at the window. The old ones are still lying, perhaps there are replacement parts somewhere. Be careful!

Pros
  • * I'm currently using the red version of BTR. Very stylish, bright and juicy red color, which is nice to look at. I like it much more than the black model that was before. * Excellent sound of any music from dubstep and techno to Latin American and classical, I listen to absolutely everything on them. Note: I never use the built-in bass booster, I don’t see the point in an overabundance of bass, only my head hurts. And in general, I never get carried away with high volume, health is more expensive. * Flawless fit on the head: soft but durable headband, fully cover the ears, lightweight, can be used for 2-3 hours in a row. * Decently isolate external sounds, but at the same time they do not make deaf people on the street. And when the music is turned off, it is quite possible to talk with sellers in stores, etc. At the same time, nothing can be heard outside even at a sufficiently high volume, I specifically interviewed my wife and colleagues. * A very good battery, it lasts at least 20 hours, I charge according to the instructions only from a computer via USB, I have never tried it from chargers. Supports cable operation if the battery is dead or the paired device does not have Bluetooth. * Convenient control buttons, everything is at hand. I love the ability to connect headphones via NFC in one motion, just put them on and put the smartphone to my ear. The main thing is to apply at least a full second and be sure to turn on the smartphone screen by unlocking it. * There are headset functions, the connection quality is sometimes worse than wired due to wind blowing into the microphone on the street, but overall decent. * Stable Bluetooth connection with a smartphone, there are practically no gaps, the quality is good, the range is large, at least 10 meters, at work I walk around a large office when the smartphone is on the table. * Convenient to carry in a backpack, fold so that they become flat. I ordered a hard case-case, the ideal solution for transportation.
Cons
  • * Ears sweat, especially during physical exertion or in hot weather. But this is an obvious drawback of any closed headphones. * After about a year, peeling of the inside of the ear pads begins, many large headphones, including other Sony models, suffer from this. It appeared on a black copy, I decided not to use the new red ones in the winter on the street at all, if the temperature is below -5, only in transport. I think they will last longer. It is impossible to buy native replacement spare parts, Sony sells them for 5000 (you heard right, FIVE THOUSAND) apiece. It's easier to order something Chinese. A small plus is that when peeling off, the “ears” litter quite a bit, on other old Sony headphones, my wife had a terrible, constantly black crumble on her ears and head. * To connect to a computer via Bluetooth, you will have to buy some fancy adapter and dance with a tambourine. Windows 7 on a rather old laptop could not find drivers, and the manufacturer does not release them. I scored and rarely use it on computers and through a cable, I spend most of my time with a smartphone, where everything is perfect.
