Perfect food for my dog!

I love The Honest Kitchen Preference grain free base mix for my 15 month old golden retriever. The mix is easy to use and I love adding my homemade human grade protein and being able to vary the protein knowing she's getting whatever she needs. The "meatโ€ added to many processed dog foods is intimidating at best. My dog is 60 pounds and I use 24 ounce wide mouth jars to make a daily supply of base mix. 1 and 1/8 cups of the mixture with 1 and 2/3 cups of water. Sometimes I use homemade broth instead of water. I mix up the base food the night before, then feed half the base food in the morning and half in the evening and add the protein and any other supplements on top of the base food as I add it to the bowl. She loves it and licks the bowl clean. Although my dog eats everything. I recommend mixing it up the night before and storing it in the fridge as it didn't have a good consistency if just soaked for the suggested 3 minutes. My dog still ate it and loved it, but I prefer to finish it completely before she eats it. It really does look a bit like a failed scientific experiment. The picture shows the remaining half of their basic mix after breakfast. I also use jars to measure and record my daily protein intake. So anyone can feed the dog as it is only half of both doses in the morning and the rest in the evening along with all the supplements. I cook the meat in large batches, then divide it into daily portions in jars and freeze the excess jars. My puppy feels very comfortable with this food, he is slim, healthy and happy with a beautiful coat!
