This adapter uses the correct screw size! Specifically, the screw holes on the sides of the bracket are 6-32, the same size as a 3.5-inch hard drive. Some computer cases require special hard drive screws, which are rubber washers to absorb vibration. These screws are usually #6-32. You will need an adapter shell with studs/holes of the same size. Many mounts (mostly cheap ones) have M3 holes on the sides of the tray. not correct. While M3 screws are used to mount a 2.5" drive, the adapter bracket must use #6-32 as if it is a 3.5" drive. That's why you need an adapter shell. Right?
