Okay, they're heavy and a little odd shaped, but the earcups are very comfortable and it's easy to tell how they sit on your head. Detachable cable. The sound quality is surreal. My Sennheiser 870s have more bass, but they tire. They deliver such rich bass that I prefer these Sennheiser headphones. The highs are clear but roll a bit, which doesn't bother me. The soundstage is exceptional (although a good set of speakers will offer a completely different soundstage in terms of instrument placement). All in all, if you don't have $2000-$3000 to spend, these headphones will give you an idea of planar headphones and you'll be using them a lot. Definitely recommend a preamp for them, but you don't have to use it.
