Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for lights and lighting accessories so far

Day One Review: I bought the 3 row 60 inch strips a few weeks ago and installed them on my 2016 F150 XLT Super Crew last night. As long as I liked her. Here are some thoughts: - 4-pin trailer harness: Before I install anything I wanted to test the 4-pin harness connection. I opened up the box that the LEDs were in and plugged them straight into the trailer's 4-pin connector. All signals and LEDs worked, but there seemed to be a delay. .For example, when the turn signals were on, the amber light from the LED bar came on a split second later and didn't stop until another signal was triggered, it was off. I then drove about 20 minutes with the trailer connected and the LEDs in my bed. I kept getting messages about connecting and disconnecting the trailer. So I didn't use the 4 pin harness. Wiring Instead, I spliced the wires on the driver's side. Taillights (for power, left turn signal, reverse and ground) and passenger side (for right turn signal). I routed new wires to a central point near the driver's side. I had to do a bit of searching to figure out which wire color was which. but once I did that, it all fell into place easily. I'm not sure if this approach was the best, but it worked for me. I'll have to come back later and make sure the wiring is 100% waterproof with some sort of junction box. And I need to add a protective plastic shield where the wires meet the metal. But I was just about to do it last night. - Installing the LED strip: The strip is packed in a small box. When I was ready to install them on the truck they kept trying to roll back. this complicated the task (more on this below). If I had to do it all over again I would put them on for a few hours (or overnight) to let them even out. Before installing I washed the bed thoroughly with soap and water and degreaser and made sure it was dry. After cleaning I used the time to center the strip and put a small piece of tape on the body of the truck and the strip to know where the center point was in case it moved. I started on the drive side by peeling off some tape. I put a drop of RTV silicone glue on the bed and pressed the bar against the bed and held it there for a minute or two. I went over the bed and made sure it lined up with the underside of the tailgate (which is where I thought it looked best. I had some trouble with the beginning of the strip being pulled up when I was finishing. And then I had trouble with the end going back to the beginning. I ended up clamping a roll of duct tape on both ends for about an hour to make sure it held. Overall: They're very light. It's cool at the same time and can be weird. Great for getting a better look at the bad drivers around me. And being able to back up with more light is great. Weird because they're just too obnoxious. If someone in the car behind me gets blinded, that's it shit maybe i need a buddy to drive the truck while i drive the car to see far away i will update with pics and other thoughts as soon as i have them.
