I originally had a white Table Mate II that my family gave me and used it as a laptop desk until I found this one. The previous desk was perfect for storing my laptop, and the small hooks and space between the bars were great for threading cables and cords through to keep things tidy. I decided to buy new as I've probably had it for 4-5 years. This table is very easy to assemble, only 4 parts. The cup holder is very discreet, it kinda crashes on the table and feels solid. It has a number of different configurations, 3 tilt angles and 6 height settings. The table is also pretty solid unless you're putting a ton of weight on it. It also glides fairly well on carpet but doesn't feel like it's moving when air gets on it. It takes a little time to press, but when it works, everything will be smooth. As I said, I personally use it as a laptop desk and work on my laptop for several hours a day. I had an older one which is basically the same and have been using it extensively for 4-5 years and it's still fine. I actually just wanted a newer one in a different color with a cup holder, since I also use it a bit as a TV stand. This way I can get my cup of sunflower seeds or soda out of the way without worrying about them being thrown off the table or onto my laptop. I took two photos if you can excuse the slight mess. I took one of my laptop setups and one of the ways to organize cords with hooks to change the angle of the desk and the distance between the support bar. This allows me to keep things within reach and prevent the cords from being yanked out by stepping on them or the like. I can definitely recommend this as a laptop desk, especially if you have limited space between your TV and your chair/sofa and want an easy to move yet stable desk. Of course, it can also be used for many other purposes.
