This item is amazing. The easiest setup. It is installed on the east side of the house about 6 feet off the ground and vertically as instructed. The towers are northeast of us (about 30 miles). There are also several towers south of us that are closer. Our house is fairly new (2017) so it comes pre-wired. So it's connected to an outdoor cable that goes to a 6-way splitter about 10 feet away in the garage. The input is sent to the amplifier's hardware button (turn off), and the output is sent to the splitter. Yes, all splitter outputs are connected, 5 of them are connected to TVs. We were only interested in local networks, but we received more than 60 channels. Crystal clear ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS and a bunch of channels I don't care about. This thing collects everything! And I don't have to aim it high or point it in any particular direction.
