Review on Experience Eco-Friendly Luxury with Waterpik ECO-533 Eco Flow Showerhead by Lee Reyna

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Does not meet expectations

I purchased the Waterpik EcoFlow shower head from Lowes DIY store. Overall a good shower head. All spray patterns functioned normally. However, the packaging is a bit misleading. The packaging states that the shower head has an off function to stop the flow of water when lathering. There isn't actually a switch-off function, but one of the 5 spray settings is a very fine mist that uses very little water. Most settings have colossal water flow. The biggest disappointment was the water consumption. The product literature states that the shower head draws 1.5 GPM averaged across all spray settings (if I remember correctly). I tested my water usage by setting my shower head to "normal" jet mode and measuring the time it took to fill a bucket. I calculated that the flow was over 2 gallons per minute. It was annoying because I bought a shower head to save water. The design of the shower head makes it almost impossible to install a flow restrictor. It is not compatible with the shower shut-off valve I was trying to add between the shower head and the pipe. I ended up returning the Lowes Waterpik shower head and bought a Moen Nurture shower head, which worked great at around 1.6 GPM. . The Moen unit is also compatible with an external shower shut-off valve. Overall the Waterpik shower head is good but shouldn't be advertised as a water saving device.

Pros
  • Test results consistent
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
