Compact, lasts several days, records several files and has good sound quality. What else do you need for this price? There are common files that can be written to (A, B, C, etc.), but within these files you can also write more than once (so you can write 1, 2, 3, i.e. you can write A1, A2, A3 , Etc.). This is incredibly handy when you have interviews or meetings with long breaks in between, and also helps ensure you don't accidentally delete a file. It's incredibly light (feels a little cheap without the battery to be honest, the iPhone 6 is probably twice the weight of this recorder). The battery charge lasts a long time. I've recorded almost 7 hours of music on this thing in a few months and it's still working at full capacity. Point it towards the sound you want to record for the best sound quality. I used this in an interview at a horse farm on a windy day and there was definitely noticeable background noise BUT I could still hear what I wanted with just a slightly annoying wind noise. Flipping through the records and how not to just transfer files to computer. When you're recording more than an hour of a meeting and need to go through and transcribe key points, it's really a hassle going back and forth through the file. While you can step through the audio in various slower and faster increments, if you accidentally press the play button or the forward or reverse button too many times, you'll be taken back to the beginning of the recording and have to start over. wouldn't call this device computer friendly. If you are looking for a device to transfer notes to your laptop, this product is not for you. However, for the price and sound quality, this is a great little gadget. I definitely recommend it.
