UPDATE (03/15/19): the sound is completely gone. I've tried turning the device on and off and then couldn't get an HDMI signal better than 480p. The sound never came back. Garbage. I replaced it with AuviPal and immediately it works much better than Musou. Let's see if this one holds up. UPDATE (9/7/18): So this block actually works pretty well. Set my cable box to 1080P HDMI and the converter to 1080P. I've noticed that when trying to convert to 1080I or 720I, there are some bad artifacts. how straight lines of letters appear jagged. In any case, the issue in my original review was a BRAND NEW AMAZON BASICS component cable. So I think the lesson was learned there. New cable, different brand, no problem. Switched it on and lo and behold, it worked! Well, something like that. I got an image that seemed normal, but I wanted to optimize it for better resolution. As soon as I started pressing that button, every time I appeared on the screen, it was just dark with garish red tones. I tried turning off the power but nothing helped. bad block? or bad product? Who knows. a bit of both?
