Review on 🎒 OneTrail Heather Daypack for Children and Adults by Eric Smalley

I have hiked a lot more (3 to 8 miles per walk) in this area of the national park since COVID restrictions. My 8L sling didn't fit as the weather got warmer and I wanted more water on the trail. So I bought it specifically for these hikes and it's been great. It is well made and true to size. Either a hydration bladder or two 1.5 liter bottles of Nalgine fit into the main backpack. If I pack a reservoir or a large (1.5L) and small (1L) bottle, I have room for a snack, first aid kit and goggles in a hard case. Each of the outer pouches can hold 1/2L of Nalgine for quick access, which is handy. The smaller outer compartment is great for phone, wallet and keys. I put my phone and wallet in a hard waterproof case just for extra security and it has plenty of room. The chest strap is good and I like the fact that the pack stays in place without a waist strap. The quality is great and I couldn't be happier. The only thing I wish was an inner loop in a smaller outer pocket to secure my keys. I've always felt more secure when my keys were secured in a way that they couldn't accidentally fall out unnoticed. The lack of a clip loop isn't enough to disqualify me, but it was what I was hoping to find when I searched. There is a "protective" zipped pocket that rests against your back to prevent it from opening in crowds. Not what I need for hiking, but it would be nice to take this into town more as a daypack. My only thought with this is that the zipper should be zipped up the opposite way - mine is zipped up. I don't think the zipper can move down, but I would be less concerned about it accidentally popping open due to gravity if it were closed in the "down" position. Again, not enough for a downgrade, but a suggestion for improvement. Can I recommend it: Absolutely!
