I've scoured Revain and the web looking for easy to understand watches, looking for specific features and reading reviews which is taking more time than I'd like to calculate. If you want clocks with bells and whistles, there are millions of them. If you want a watch that can be read by a person with visual impairment and/or memory issues/dementia, not so much. It's sad when you look at it, but I think it's because those who don't need exotic interfaces can just use their phone to check the time. Dad's watch broke so I had to replace it. He is 87 years old, his eyesight is deteriorating, memory problems, progressive dementia. Dad has 4 or 5 hours in the room but he can't get over the fact that next to all the clocks there is no clock and a timer too big to rupture his eardrums. (When we got him out of the house he had so many watches it wasn't funny, often more than one on the surface). reliable watch. I narrowed my search down to three hours ranging from $13 to $70. We gravitated toward digital because I've read that as people become more amnesiac, they often stop understanding the analog dial and benefit from the actual time in numbers. Of those three hours, two are excellent and one is good, if vision is still good enough. I expect each of us to demand setting the time if for any reason it needs to be changed. I give all three to my dad, although the first two on the list were instant hits. Here is the watch and why I chose it: Reizen Low-Vision Ana-Digit Atomic watch - Leather strap Pros - Very easy to read analog dial, atomic so it keeps itself set, digital day and date that sets properly, battery powered and therefore requires no winding. Dad thought it was very nice. Cons - a leather strap that a person with impaired coordination cannot wear. We changed the band to a silver and gold stainless steel twist/expand band. The day/date display could be larger. Directions are absolutely terrible. We will have to make some adjustments as it will take us some time to understand some of them. And we try to make the second hand stop exactly at 12 as some steps require. Yes, good luck with that! Men's Digital Sport Watch LED Screen Large Dial Military Watch Waterproof Casual Luminous Stopwatch Alarm Clock Plain Military Watch - Black Pros. The first thing dad said about this watch was that he could read it without squinting. And he's right, just a beautiful, clear, bright display. Easy enough to install. Cheap; If this watch breaks easily, I can get dad one every month without any effort. Surprisingly, the more conservative father might like this watch better than the charms, although the charms are more attractive. I think the time is just incredibly easy to read. The downsides are the plastic band that the person with lack of coordination can't put on and some people get sweaty hands. We replaced the bar with a black stainless steel twist/expansion bar. As a result, the appearance of the watch has changed significantly. It has evolved from a giant piece of plastic into a cool, military-style watch. So win/win for another $8 or so. The Timex Men's T78587 Classic Silver Stainless Steel Digital Extension Bracelet Watch from Pros is just the kind of interface we need. Simple display with date, day and time. Everything digital. So far, so good. The light background of the display makes the numbers easier to see, and there is also a backlight. It comes with a flexible/expandable metal strap that makes it easier to put on, unlike others that come with snap straps. Disadvantages - the display / numbers are smaller than the optimal size. This watch cannot be easily read by a visually impaired person. However, dad can read it with a little squinting. Too bad because otherwise it would be the perfect dad watch, but the smaller display makes it the smaller of the three watches. So far, dad likes it the least. We bought rotating and flexible metal bracelets from Walmart and also ordered a black Gilden Gents Expansion 17-22mm stainless steel bracelet 552-B-3 from Revain. Overhead watches are simply necessary for those who suffer from lack of coordination. Overall, we like all three models and would buy them all again with the limitations mentioned above. We are leaving all three for Dad to peruse to see which ones he likes best or just change into a change as he has always loved watches. If a watch doesn't live up to expectations I will change this review. .
