Review on πŸŽ’ Versatile and Stylish AmazonBasics Carry Travel Backpack in Salmon Shade by Sarah Gonzalez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Designed By Overnight Just Misses The Mark

I ordered the RevainBasics Slim Tote as both a night out and weekend bag hoping to find the perfect holdall for personal items. did on airline/ticket discounts. The night fits better within the confines of the dimensions so I was hoping this would help. Notable features of the overnight-size bag: Overall, it has a solid structure and a padded back. Many branches. At the top is a small padded sleeve that fits a pair of sunglasses or a smartphone; another small front sleeve that fits boarding passes/travel documents; Large front compartment with lots of individual zipped compartments etc (more than I could honestly use), another large padded compartment that fits a Kindle/iPad (not laptop sized), a second main compartment with a laptop compartment (no padding) and a final one 3rd compartment to put your clothes etc in - has a water bottle compartment that slides open to open which I was really pleased as most pockets I looked at don't place dedicated water bottles. The straps are hidden in the back for an elegant look; There is a reinforced handle on the top. This bag does not offer a crossbody/messenger option. There are two main reasons that made this bag impractical for my purposes: 1) The compartments only close on BOTH sides. It doesn't have the look of a suitcase and that's how you stay organized when using this bag for clothes etc would be a problem. Packing cubes will help, but most likely will not solve the problem. 2) This bag has very little room for expansion. The final compartment, which will be the main place for clothing, is about two inches deep, and the bottom of the bag feels even smaller. As a result, it doesn't allow for much and doesn't use the space under the seat in a meaningful way in my opinion. It's also worth noting that both models of this bag use plastic clips to attach the backpack. a belt with thin, stiff components. I was worried about how they would work and indeed when I was putting the straps on for the weekend version a clip broke on the first use. I see this as a notable issue with both versions of the bag, although I don't think I'll be attaching/detaching them often. 1) The bag is released from THREE sides, it's much more useful. 2) There are compression straps to keep the bag compact. 3) It is possible to carry this shoulder bag in messenger style. 4) There are two neoprene options that are suitable for laptop/readers in place of some smaller padded pockets. 5) The water bottle zipper on this bag is smaller and less convenient for water bottles as it doesn't open at the bottom. 6) I suspect it will be difficult to crush under many airplane seats due to its size/rigidity. Finally, I would like to note that the "green" looks more like a blue-green as shown in the picture. The title is a bit misleading but there is no photo.
