This electric blanket is a real treat. Lying soft and cozy on the sofa. Some electric blankets feel stiff due to the hard wires inside. Not so with this blanket. You can tell it has wires if you feel for them, but they're not too obvious unless you try to feel for them. The cord is long enough that it's not bulky, and you generally don't need an extension cord as long as you're near an outlet. The last 3 duvets I had gave an overheat error and had to be unplugged and plugged back in. This blanket either didn't overheat OR the shut off mechanism just turns the blanket off so you don't have to unplug it to turn it back on. on.Cons: The power and settings button is flush with the handheld controller part, and it's easy to accidentally press up, up, up! Works for a long time without automatic shutdown. I use it in my blanket pile when I go to bed. I get cold feet there. However, at 1-2am I wake up with hot flashes and have to manually unplug the duvet, which is inconvenient. My last 2 duvets switched off automatically after about 2 hours. The fact that it lasts longer may be an advantage for some.
