Usable day and night. Reduces glare. I don't think the product is polarized. One way to check polarization is to look at the sun's reflection on a shiny surface and rotate the glasses. If the light passing through the glass (plastic) decreases as it rotates, the product is polarized. Checking the polarization, I couldn't see any change in the transmitted light. So one two stars.
