Natural Balance Canned Dog Food Vegetarian Grade Product Overview + Sodium Analysis

Pros: + Low Sodium + High Puppy Flavor Appeal + High Quality Ingredients Easy Extract) Why This Strain / Sodium Level: I first came across this product while doing my research low sodium dog food because one of my pets, Romeo, is on a low sodium diet and prescription pet foods are extremely expensive and often made with poor quality ingredients. Countless hours of intense research led me to purchase this Natural Balance Vegetarian Canned Dog Formula. Although it's not listed on the can, I contacted the manufacturer and they told me the sodium content of this food is 0.12%. Most dog food brands also don't list the sodium content on the package, but after contacting and researching several brands and varieties, I found that 0.12% in this variety is below average (most contain more than 0.2% sodium). Contents). That 0.12% is even lower than the 0.23% found in Hill's H/D prescription heart doses. less than 0.12% is 0.11% Pedigree + Healthy Heart is another good product to try if you are also looking for reduced sodium and 0.05% sodium, this is the one from Purina Pro Plan wet dog food, Focus , Adult Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon & Rice Entrée found is slightly more expensive, slightly inferior in quality and much less loved by Romeo. I first paid $12.99 for 12 13oz cans, which is VERY (comparatively) affordable! However, it's currently listed at $21.42 and I've seen the same lot go as high as $35. Packaging: These are typical old-school cans that require a can opener. I was spoiled by easy-open lids from other brands. Ingredients: I evaluated the ingredients and they are really good in my opinion. When looking for dog food, I prefer to avoid corn, wheat or soy and use real meat as the first ingredient and not a by-product, preferably poultry or fish. While this brand doesn't contain corn, wheat, or soy, I'm conflicted as the vegetarian nature of this strain doesn't allow for meat (yes). I still give the ingredients a positive rating for this review as it is clearly a vegetarian product. Flavor: Although I originally bought this food for Romeo, all 3 of my dogs enjoy eating this food. Bottom Line: We absolutely love this dog food and would recommend it to any dog requiring a low sodium or vegetarian diet. If the price stayed constant at 1€ per can, I would keep buying it. However, due to the higher cost and because dogs may need meat protein, I have not repurchased since my original case. I am committed to providing honest and unbiased feedback.
