Good for beginners: Cutting tools
Excellent second stage scissors for little hands. I started using plastic safety scissors to practice grasping and to show my 1 year old son what it's like to use real scissors. They didn't cut much, but they served their intended purpose. They don't cut much more than those who don't need help. If I keep the paper trained, he can cut by himself, but he can't cut with it just holding the paper with one hand and scissors with the other. However, he likes them very much and we use them a lot (with support). We'll probably keep them for a year before moving on to more serious really sharp (as in the case of blades, not points) scissors.
