Well packaged in a sturdy Tyvek-like envelope, I took a pair of scissors, cut off the top of the envelope and carefully cut one of the straps between the locking ring and the cover of my new replacement!. Luckily there was a second left - and it was all my fault for being pretty reckless. The surviving cap works quite well, I am satisfied with the purchase.
