The packaging was securely fastened, each container was inserted into the foam. I have not had any damaged or broken containers. I checked the water tanks and there are no leaks. The glass seems thick enough for the application but I would advise you to be careful with that obviously. The lid looks ok, it has a thick gasket that seems to do the job, the lid closes easily. I suppose the lid can be a headache to clean the nooks and crannies of the seal, but that's to be expected from a product like this. Seems like a smart deal, the bins are small. but they work for me. For example: I cooked 208 grams of dry rice, which increased to about 500 grams, and the container held everything but was quite full. I also cooked 8 ounces of dry beans, which probably increased in weight to about 18 ounces after cooking, and the container barely held it all. So each container can hold about 1 cup of dry beans/rice after inflated. Which really makes them the perfect lunch size IMO, since you can have 1/2 cup rice and 1/2 cup beans in one container. The fact that you get 8 of these is pretty good too. First of all I will be using them for cooking during the week and I think they will work well. Having just received them, I cannot confirm their durability or temperature stability. From what it says on the box and on the product page it's borosilicate which I understand will hold up well for freezing or microwave temperatures so I have to imagine they do a good job. Obviously it's glass, so common sense plays a role in all of this. I wouldn't expect them to survive a fall from a high counter but if you're careful I think they will for a long time. If this company sells a larger version I'd check it out because I like the quality, but for cooking you might want something bigger. However, I am satisfied with my purchase. If something happens I will try to come here to complain even if I forget. :)
