Face feels very clean but not stripped. A very small amount of product is needed to get a huge amount of foam. The scrubbing particles are very gentle as compared to St. Ives apricot scrub. If you don’t want to use it as a scrub you can foam it in your hands and rub them together. This gets rid of most of the scrubbing particles and you can use the resulting foam on your face. I usually apply it as is out of the tube to use it as a scrub in the PM and foam it in my hands to have a more gentle experience in the AM. I also do that if I want to use my Clarisonic as it’s not indicated to use any kind of mechanical exfoliating with it. I have oily, rosacea - acne prone skin and this has not irritated my face in any way. Will repurchase. It’s great as the 2 nd cleanser in the 2 step process. My 1st step is the Kose cleansing oil.
