User friendliness. I'm almost a samurai!

When I woke up this morning, got the dogs out and started the coffee pot, I opened the box of this whetstone. I opened the manual and followed the instructions. I even watched a random YouTube video from Japan showing how to use a similar product while sipping my coffee. (The stone has already been soaked in a water bath for 17 minutes). I picked the worst knife we have in the knife block and started working on it. and we are working on it. First I used the blue grained side about 30 times on each side. Then I did the same with the other white side. I pulled a hard lime out of the fridge (I use it to make a mmmm margarita after a long bike ride) and decided to cut it open and check the sharpness of the knife. I placed the lime on a plastic cutting board and started slicing. GOOD GRACIOUS! It cuts so easily! Then I cut open the tomato and the blade went right in. Not bad for a $10 5 year old Target knife. I'm sharpening other fancier knives tonight. Maybe light candles and listen to Yanni's CDs on an old tape recorder. Goodbye!
