I originally bought this to use my iPad as a second screen. When I first got it I was skeptical that it would be strong enough to hold my iPad in one position, but it works great. I often use it as a phone mount when I don't need an iPad. I can't tell you how much I love this thing. The only thing I don't like is the bold logo on the base of the stand, but I covered it with a sticker that I like better.
