The number one reason to buy this instead of a glow tester is so you can accurately measure spark strength. I had a weak ignition coil but it worked. This tool tells me that my spark can only make half the span of a normal output. Saves me a lot of time and money as I can focus on improving spark quality. Before using this tool I thought I had bad gas, a dirty carburetor, worn rings, even a sheared timing gear. The problem with the crusher not being started has been fixed. The instructions didn't make it clear that you're not testing it in-line with a spark plug - it tests by behaving like an adjustable spark plug outside of the combustion cylinder.
