The jack-o'-lanterns are very adorable and require assembly. The pumpkin strands arrive in a small box. Yes, it takes a little time to unroll the pumpkin and set the light configuration. We enjoy the end result. Pumpkins come in a variety of sizes and lengths, batteries are not included. We used clear zip ties to tie the pumpkin threads together. The lights are turned on and off manually using a battery pack, which is made of plastic and can rupture if the batteries hit the ground hard. We removed the batteries and left the gourd strings collected as we packed them up for the next year.
