Review on ChicNChic Tankini Boyshorts Swimsuit Adjustable by Lisa Gunterman

Full front to back seam = large gusset

I was so happy to get these cute bottoms but couldn't resist the chunky gusset in the front. I had to constantly pull them out of stock. I really liked the overall style, with big buttocks, hips and thighs. I wear 11 juniors or 8 misses, pear shaped, with thick hips and narrow waist. I went for a large one - the waist was a little loose but didn't gape; if I choose a medium shade, the leg area would cut into my thighs too much (if you have really tight skin on your thighs, that's not a problem for you). Note: The hip area tends to rise a little when you're active, but most swimsuits slide down a bit when you're active. I liked the ability to adjust the length (you can go from a bundle gathered for less thigh coverage if you don't have saddlebags and still get full rear coverage, or unbutton them for longer leg coverage). I landed somewhere in the middle with a crunch so I could cover the saddlebag area. Another great feature was that the waistband is wide and doesn't cut through the tops of the muffins (very forgiving, no stiff/inelastic seam I sometimes find on cycling shorts/yoga pants). Really comfortable EXCEPT for the big gusset in the crotch when you are active/moving. As frustrating as it is, I had to return them because of the front/crotch design. I see this a lot in sexy lingerie stores and I keep telling myself it must have been designed by a man. It might just be partly my body type, but the front seam is just awful! I have never worn a suit or underwear with a seam like this before. There was no way around it, I couldn't keep it away from my female parts. I wish they would redesign this. You could sew a strip of swimwear lining over the seam if that bothers you, but the seam was too bulky for me to do that.
