Review on K CB CLR1620FS Frameless Aluminum Bathroom Installation by Josh Hamler

I bought this because of the KOHLER name. I had to return the first one because KOHLER no longer uses the MEPLA loop and has replaced it with a nameless one. My first came with a broken hinge. The MEPLA hinge is a quality product that should cost KOHLER at least one euro. I can only guess what stamped steel saved them from. If the cheap styrofoam packaging was a little stiffer and they used 2 cents more packing tape the item wouldn't break. The item may have left the factory in the People's Republic of China damaged. The replacement had a screw holding the cross-threaded hinge and was not fully secured. The instructions state that the loop should be adjusted last. When I got to this step, the Phillips head screw wouldn't go down anymore. I applied more torque and broke it. I had to take the cabinet off the wall, drill a hole in the screw, use easy-out, and thread it back in. Be prepared when purchasing this item. I had a stainless steel screw and washer in my collection to replace. It would have been easier to return the product but I had a hole in the bathroom wall.
