WOW they are bright and energy efficient :)

I bought these last year when we were looking to buy a house that we closed mid January. Since there were no lights in the living room, I installed them there to provide some light. They served there faithfully for about a month until we rearranged most of our belongings and installed a floor lamp, after which I moved it to more important places in the house; one in the central hall and one in the kitchen. They've been in continuous use since mid-January and haven't shown any problems, so far so good. If you're lucky, they'll last for years. These things are AMAZING bright. Connected to elevated outlets (about 4 feet) and aimed downwards, they emit a wide light and illuminate a fairly large area. If anything, they're too bright to look at directly if you wake up in the middle of the night, but you certainly won't stumble upon an unseen object! Anyway, my only complaint is that the photocell might be a bit undersensitive to ambient light, allowing the light to come on even when there's enough ambient light in the room. In an ideal world they'd have a potentiometer to adjust the sensitivity to your liking (and I'll probably plug it in one day, heh), but overall that's not a good reason to take a star out. - certainly better than being too sensitive and not turning on when needed :) Attached is a photo of the lights in my kitchen. I've adjusted the white balance so you can see the color of the light (the wall and baseboard heater is painted a fairly neutral white). My toes, which you can barely see at the bottom of the picture, are about a meter from the wall. If anything, the image is a bit underexposed as my toes seemed much better lit in person than the camera shows. At four feet I would say they have a "well lit" radius of about 6-7 feet. , and a "useful" radius of 12+ feet. Between the two in the hall and kitchen (the outlets are a little over 20 feet apart and in line of sight of each other), the overlap is nearly regular, with no unlit area between them, but no doubly lit area of overlap. . If you plug them into "regular" height outlets about 12 to 16 inches off the ground, you should have a radius of about 1.5 to 3 feet that is "well lit" and a radius of about 4 to 6 feet of "useful" light. UPDATE November 26, 2018: Still using them as night lights and they're holding up well almost two years later, no signs of dying LEDs or other issues that often get in the way of cheap electronics. I actually had to move the entrance because my stepson was complaining that the light emanating from under his door (it's plugged in almost directly across from his door) disturbs his sleep (yes he's quite sensitive and has insomnia)!
