When I'm looking for an MP3 player, I usually go for SanDisk products. They are usually high quality at a reasonable price but that was an issue from the start. In the 18 months since I bought it I've reformatted it a dozen times and it will work fine for a week or two and then start to mess up. I'm listening to audiobooks on it and suddenly I can't skip to a new chapter or pause, or it suddenly starts over even if I don't even touch the button. Then there are times when listening to something (music or a book) it stops playing and tells me the file is corrupt. Switch to another selection and it will play for a few seconds and then a file corruption message will appear. I take out the SD card and try it on another device and the files play fine, but put it back in this thing and I get a file corruption message. There is no way to reset the Clipsport, just reformat it and then transfer all your data back. And no help from the company other than to tell me they know about the problem and if I update the firmware they will take care of the problems. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I wanted to download my new audiobook, but my computer can't find the player. You connect to another computer and same thing. The problem is with the player, not the computer. Contacted Sansa for help and was told to update the firmware. This is impossible if the player does not communicate with the computer! So they said to reformat the player and see if that helps. Yes, that's right. But now the player is blank and I'm done with it. We're looking for a replacement. And not SanDisk!
