The fan is nice and flush with our bed - just what we wanted. It was installed by an electrician so we didn't pay attention to how it was assembled. The remote control stopped working after half a year. After a long search, it turned out that he has a battery in the front. Then, two years later, the fan only ran at one speed and the light stopped working. Convinced it was the switch, I googled the switch number to purchase a replacement and learned from the comments that the switch in the wall has a battery, as does the remote. Of course, if we installed the fan ourselves or read the instructions, we would understand. Now that the new batteries are being sold at regular stores like Target, Walmart, and Lowe's, the fan and remote work great again. One star deducted because the light is not up to standard and not sure if it will be easy to find a replacement in the future.
