I play The Sims 4 on my laptop and always use it while I play. I can notice a noticeable difference when gaming without this fan versus when gaming with it. I can feel it when I touch it. The fan keeps my laptop cool. So I never play without one as I want to extend the life of my laptop and keep it as cool as possible. I recommend this to anyone looking for something comfortable to use (yes, it's comfortable on the knees) and want to keep their device from overheating while gaming. It's pretty quiet too. I can't hear it working unless the room is dead quiet, and even then it's not all that loud. Sometimes I watch TV while playing and when I play I can't hear it at all.
