I've tried hundreds of times (ok dozens of times) and couldn't get a dimple, now I can make a nice dimple myself with an old tie clip from both sides evenly when undoing the tie knot, immediately after the entire tie is passed through the loop, I squeeze the tie evenly on both sides and pull the tie tighter, and while doing this I put my index finger in the loop. Dimple and continue pinching on both sides until the widest part of the tie is all the way down. then I look at the dimple in the mirror to see if it's square in the middle. If not I try again and after a few tries I have the perfect dimple. So I don't need any help, thanks.
