First thing the metal frames were bent and my husband spent a hell of a long time fixing them to the table top. We almost decided to just throw it away. We also thought it was a real wooden banana, we see it's just plastic or PVC which disappointed us but that's ok. When we finally installed it it looked ok, not the best quality but it was handsome and didn't look shabby to say the least as I only use them for plant stands. I wouldn't say they are strong because they are crooked due to foundation deflection. The pre-drilled holes didn't necessarily line up with the frame and that was also an issue, except I wouldn't say it would be difficult to put together if everything had fitted from the start to shipping or even on time.
